Choosing the Study That's Right for You

How to Choose?

Have you ever been to our website and been overwhelmed by the number of studies we offer? How do you choose which study is right for you? We would like to make this process as easy as possible so we are offering a brief tutorial to work your way through our extensive list of available studies. Click on any of the images to view a larger version.

Let’s suppose you are interested in a diabetes study and you live just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. Because of your location you may be interested in studies in our Charlotte office, but Salisbury or Hickory might be convenient as well. Therefore you have 3 PMG sites that could meet your needs.

Step 1: Visit and click on Participants. Once there, select Search Available Studies in the purple navigation bar. Next, choose which site(s) work best for you by checking the box next to site name in the green box.

Once you've selected the sites, click By Medical Condition and type Diabetes, then hit Search Now. (If you’d like to see all of the studies enrolling at the selected site(s), you can just click Search Now after you've selected the site(s).)

This will provide you a list of all the diabetes studies for the site(s) you have selected. The next thing you’ll want to do is review each listing. The best place to start is by looking at the gender and age range of the study entry criteria. You may be able to narrow down your search by eliminating those where you don’t meet these simple criteria.

The next step is to determine your Body Mass Index (BMI). This is also an important criterion that is easy to determine. We even provide a link in the description to determine your BMI.

After you have narrowed your search even further you may want to look at the time commitment. If you spend your winters in Florida, and there are 52 visits in a 52 week time frame, then this study may not be a good fit for you.

After reviewing the above criteria and deciding you would like to know more, read the description of the study carefully. We often place some criteria on the website that are easy to determine you meet.

If after reading all this information you determine that you are interested in the study, use the Apply for this Study Now button at the bottom of the page or the Contact Us button on the right side of the page to submit your information. A clinical research professional will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your potential to participate.

Does all this sound like a lot of work? That’s okay!  We are always here to help guide you through this process and possibly fit you into a study that could work for you. So, just take the first step and call us or use the Contact Us form on the website. We would love to hear from you.
